The Intermediate Level Training Cycle for Sports Technician in Medium Mountain consists of two levels.

Level 1: Hiking (480 hours)

The initial hiking cycle prepares students to guide and lead athletes and users on routes through natural areas on marked low mountain trails, as well as in leisure and environmental education activities; collaborate in organizing hiking activities and promote knowledge and respect for the natural, cultural, and human environment; participate in safety control in adventure parks involving trees or artificial structures; all in accordance with the guidelines established in the reference program, safety measures, and optimal quality standards to ensure the satisfaction of athletes and users engaging in the activity.

Students must successfully complete this course and obtain the Initial Hiking Cycle certificate in order to advance to Level 2.

Level 2: Medium Mountain (640 hours)

Level 2 qualifies students to design routes, guide and lead athletes and users through medium mountain terrain; promote knowledge of the physical, cultural, and human environment where the activity takes place and foster respect for it; manage the necessary material resources for the activities and coordinate the technicians under their supervision; organize guiding activities in this environment; all in accordance with current regulations and the guidelines established in the reference program, ensuring safety, environmental respect, and an optimal quality level to guarantee the satisfaction of the participating athletes.

Sports Technician in Medium Mountain.

Level 1:
Hold the title of graduate in compulsory secondary education (or equivalent for academic purposes).
Pass the specific entrance exam for the initial Hiking cycle.

Pass the specific entrance exam for the final Medium Mountain cycle.

The cycle includes a practical training block of 200 hours, where students can apply the knowledge acquired in real high mountain environments.

Access requires passing the specific entrance exam for the Higher Level Cycle in High Mountain Sports or Mountain Skiing.

Those who complete Level 1 receive a certificate that enables them to enter the workforce in roles such as:

  • Guide for marked trails in low mountain areas and enclosed natural spaces,
  • Operator in adventure parks in trees or artificial structures.

Those who complete Level 2 can access the labor market with roles such as:

  • guide for low and mid-mountain areas and nordic-type snowy terrain,
  • trainer in mountain sports initiation and improvement,
  • safety controller in adventure parks in trees or artificial structures.
