Basic horse riding techniques

The “Basic Horse Riding Techniques” Training Module offered by JOVIAT represents an excellent opportunity for working professionals looking to improve their equestrian skills. This module is designed to cover basic horse riding and care techniques, as well as improving riding technique, with the aim of our students acquiring the necessary skills to ride safely and effectively.

With a total duration of 180 hours, this program stands out for its depth and practical application, allowing participants to apply what they learn in a real environment. The sessions are held at the JOVIAT-Les Tanques Equestrian Center in Viladecans , thus guaranteeing a comprehensive and realistic learning experience.

Course content

Recognize and describe the facilities and materials used to ride a horse. Point out the tasks in the processes of choosing and placing riding equipment and, in a practical case, place it according to the characteristics of the animal and the work it will do.

Identify the physical conditions of a horse standing still and in motion, and assess its suitability for riding. Identify the character of a horse and assess it to predict its behavior during riding.

Describe the techniques used to ride a horse with skill. Mount the animal and move in different directions with correctness, applying the correct techniques in each case.

Upon completion of the Basic Horseback Riding Techniques module, participants will receive an official accreditation that validates the skills and abilities acquired in horse riding. It is a Training Module included in the Certificate of Professionalism as a Guide in Natural Environment Itineraries.

To access the course, interested parties must meet the specific requirements established by the call:

  • Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) certificate or equivalent or higher qualification (alternatively, a key competencies test can be taken at the center).
  • Payroll or current contract (in its absence, the DARDO document as a job seeker).
  • Valid DNI or NIE.

The Training Module obtained can serve as a starting point for access to other related studies, such as advanced riding courses, specific training in horse handling, or even studies related to sports, health and well-being.

The module is a good starting point for getting started in the equestrian sector.
