The Higher Vocational Training Course in Lifesaving and Lifeguarding at JOVIAT qualifies students to program, lead, and coordinate the sports training of lifeguards and lifeguard teams in medium- and high-level competitions; manage human and material resources in lifesaving and lifeguarding activities; and direct lifesaving and lifeguarding schools.

Curriculum

It includes modules focused on the theoretical and practical foundations necessary for all high-performance sports coaches:

  • Physiological factors of high performance: Study of the physiology of high sports performance.
  • Psychosocial factors of high performance: Analysis of the psychological and social components that influence high performance.
  • Training of sports trainers: Techniques and methods for training and teaching in the sports field.
  • Organization and management applied to high performance: Management and organization strategies for entities and activities related to high sports performance.

Deepen your knowledge of rescue and first aid, including:

  • Planning and programming of high performance in rescue and first aid: Development of specific training programs for first aiders.
  • Rescue and first aid training: Specific training methodologies for improving rescue and first aid skills.
  • Rescue and first aid center management: Knowledge for the effective management of rescue and first aid centers.
  • Organization of rescue and first aid events: Planning and organization of rescue and first aid events and competitions.

Project work

Within the Higher Vocational Training in Lifesaving and Lifeguarding offered by JOVIAT, one of the key components is the Final Project, included in the specific training block. This project represents a significant opportunity for students to apply in an integrated way the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the course, which includes some of the following contents:

Development of High Performance Training Programs

Projects that involve the creation of innovative training plans for lifeguards, focused on improving performance in rescue and first aid competitions.

Management and Organization of Rescue and First Aid Events

Projects focused on the planning, organization, and execution of rescue and first aid events or competitions, including security and logistics management.

Analysis and Improvement of Safety Protocols in Aquatic Spaces

Projects that review and propose improvements in safety protocols for swimming pools, beaches, and other aquatic spaces, based on the analysis of cases and current data.

Development of Teaching Materials for Rescue and First Aid Training

Creation of innovative educational resources for teaching and learning rescue and first aid, using emerging technologies or active learning methodologies.

This final project is an essential part of the course, giving students the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to practically implement the theoretical knowledge acquired and develop creative solutions to real problems within the field of rescue and first aid .
