The Advanced Vocational Training Course in Dietetics and Nutrition at Joviat School offers a unique opportunity for those interested in the fields of nutrition and health.

Curriculum

Focused on developing the ability to solve problems autonomously, promoting the acquisition of skills, knowledge and attitudes, with a strong emphasis on research, reflection and teamwork.

Making recipes in the Hotel Management school kitchen, which allows students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical environment.

Training necessary to work in accordance with food safety regulations.

Practical experience in real cases of dietary consultation, where students conduct interviews, take anthropometric measurements and plan dietary advice.

Integration of pathophysiology and diet therapy from a holistic approach, considering physical activity and emotional and social factors in the study of practical cases.

Knowledge about medicinal plants, their characteristics and applications on different organs and/or systems of the body.

Development of health promotion and education skills through specific campaigns and projects at different educational levels.

Weekly session led by the school’s sports department, with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Nutrition Innovation Projects

Design innovative meal plans that respond to specific nutritional needs of different population groups, taking into account factors such as food allergies, intolerances and dietary preferences (vegan, vegetarian).

Public Health Awareness Campaigns

Create and implement campaigns to promote the importance of healthy eating and physical activity in schools, businesses or communities, including workshops, talks and educational material.

Dietary Interventions in Private Consultation

Simulate real cases where the student must develop nutritional diagnoses and intervention plans for clients with specific needs, such as weight management, chronic diseases or improving sports performance.

Analysis and Improvement of Catering Services

Evaluate the menus and food services of centers such as hospitals, schools or catering companies, and propose improvements to ensure that they comply with nutritional and quality standards.

Phytotherapy projects

Investigate the properties of different medicinal plants and their use in the prevention or treatment of diseases , as well as their potential in the creation of dietary supplements.

Students who complete this course receive the title of Senior Technician in Dietetics, which qualifies them to develop diets adapted to individuals and groups, control the quality of human food, and implement educational activities that improve the eating habits of the population.

The admission requirements include holding a baccalaureate diploma, a specialist technician qualification (FP2), a higher technician qualification (Advanced Vocational Training), or a technician qualification (Intermediate Vocational Training); having passed the second year of any experimental baccalaureate program; or accessing through other pathways such as the specific course for entry into Higher Level Training Cycles (CAS), or holding any university degree.

The course includes 410 hours of Training in Work Centers (FCT) in companies in the sector, allowing students to apply the knowledge acquired in a real professional environment.

Internships at: Althaia. Manresa University Assistance Network, Boris 45, Santa Clara Foundation, La Font School and Herboristeria Sant Miquel.

Students can continue their education with undergraduate university studies thanks to the recognition of credits in programs such as the degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, among other educational options.

Job options include working as a senior technician in dietetics and nutrition, food manager in catering companies, food hygiene technician, food consultant, or health educator, among others.
