The Intermediate Vocational Training Cycle for Sports Technician in Climbing consists of two levels:

Level 1: Hiking (480 hours)

The initial hiking cycle prepares students to guide and lead athletes and users on routes through natural areas on marked low mountain trails, as well as in leisure and environmental education activities; collaborate in organizing hiking activities and promote knowledge and respect for the natural, cultural, and human environment; participate in safety control in adventure parks involving trees or artificial structures; all in accordance with the guidelines established in the reference program, safety measures, and optimal quality standards to ensure the satisfaction of athletes and users engaging in the activity.

Students must successfully complete this course and obtain the Initial Hiking Cycle certificate in order to advance to Level 2.

Level 2: Climbing (885 hours)

Level 2 enables you to adapt, direct and stimulate initiation and technical improvement in rock climbing, indoor or outdoor climbing walls or artificial climbing structures, climbing on equipped and semi-equipped routes or on equipped via ferratas, and in belaying on varied terrain; organize, specify itineraries and guide athletes on low mountain and mid-mountain summer itineraries; guide climbers on rock climbing itineraries on equipped and semi-equipped routes, equipped via ferratas and varied terrain; organize and direct activities, competitions and events in the field of sports initiation; manage safety, material and human resources and the coordination of competition, event and technical activities in charge; set up or equip and secure adventure spaces, equip or re-equip rock climbing routes and design climbing itineraries on climbing walls or artificial structures; and all this, in accordance with current regulations and the guidelines established in the reference programming, in conditions of safety, environmental respect and with the optimal level of quality that allows the satisfaction of the athletes and users participating in the activity.

Students develop a specific training plan for climbers, including physical preparation, climbing technique, and emotional management during competitions.

This project allows us to explore new technologies and materials in climbing equipment to improve the safety and effectiveness of climbers.

Organization of a Climbing Championship

Students will work on organizing a climbing championship, from initial planning to the execution of the event, including managing security, logistics, and communication .

Study on Well-being and Safety in Climbing

Carrying out a research project focused on the well-being of climbers, analyzing current practices and proposing improvements to ensure safe climbing practice.

  • Operator in adventure parks in trees or artificial structures.

People who pass level 2 can enter the world of work, as:

  • climbing guide on equipped and semi-equipped routes
  • summer medium mountain guide,
  • safety controller in adventure parks in trees or on artificial structures,
  • climbing coach,
  • director of a climbing sports school.
