A pioneering and innovative programme for Upper Secondary Education and Vocational Training

Well-being is one of the core pillars at JOVIAT. Our school culture fosters a sense of belonging among students, ensures an atmosphere of respect and safety, and promotes well-being and cohesion within teams.
The entire team is committed to supporting students’ emotional education, both through tutorial guidance and through interpersonal and educational interaction and communication.
This attentive, person-centred approach has led us to focus on all those transversal competencies that support technical skills, because we know that without emotional well-being, there is no true health — and that emotional well-being has a direct impact on students’ performance and academic success.

Neuroscience shows that effective emotional management is essential for maintaining balance and personal autonomy, healthy relationships, and both personal and professional well-being.
This awareness, along with our commitment to holistic education, has led us to create a personal growth and emotional development programme — established as a dedicated subject within the curriculum: the #2be Programme. A subject for life, designed as a journey for students: an inner journey of self-awareness, an outward journey toward others, and a projection toward collective improvement.

Currently, the #2be Programme consists of two modules delivered in Intermediate Vocational Training and Upper Secondary Education.

  • #2be basics
  • #2be electives

#2be basics

The contents of #2be basics include the essential contents to achieve good emotional competence and are organized into 2 main thematic blocks:

  • Personal autonomy, which includes self-awareness and the regulation and management of emotions.
  • Social skills include teamwork and communication. It refers to how we relate to other people, the acceptance of others’ differences, understood as the ability to recognize and accept.

#2be electives

Once students have mastered the basic emotional tools, the following year they take #2be electives, where we offer a real application of emotional skills in different areas. Students are offered a total of 8 electives, of which each student will take three throughout the course.

These electives correspond to the different fields of expertise of our professional families.

#2be go-ahead

We explain the global economic system and its implications through fair, egalitarian, sustainable and respectful alternatives. We reflect on how to be a good entrepreneur in one’s own life with good time management, initiative and communication tools.

#2be arts

Art and artistic creation are a means to improve personal well-being and a path to self-knowledge. The manipulation of materials and the creation of symbolic works facilitate the expression of emotions and are a channel for communicating ideas or opinions. Students connect with their creativity and use art as a means of expression.

#2behealthy

The comprehensive health of people is linked to multiple factors such as rest, stress management, nutrition or social relationships, among others. Students become aware of how daily routines influence physical and emotional health.

#2be active

The physical dimension and body care is the basis for good mental health. In order to have a healthy life, it is necessary to work on aspects such as strength and endurance, as well as postural control and relaxation. In this elective we become aware of the importance of the body and how to activate it.

#2befood

Food awareness helps us maintain a healthy diet through the Slow food concept, which talks about eating “good, clean and fair” and teaches us to be responsible and sustainable. Students enter the kitchen and learn recipes and tricks to save and get the most out of our products and be respectful of the product and the environment.

#2bedigital

We live in a world where it is increasingly important to have digital skills and make good use of technology. We talk about its security, credibility and reliability, the so-called “digital health” and how to make good use of digital tools and applications.

#2be a reader

Through the selection and reading of small chosen fragments, we delve into universal themes such as death and love, pain and pleasure, and other ethical dilemmas that we encounter in the personal and professional realm. We reflect together on the ideas of great thinkers and literary artists to enrich our points of view.

#2betalk

Conversation opens the door to new cultures, because through language we learn new ways of living and understanding the world. Students are enriched through conversation in English and improve their future opportunities.
