The Intermediate Vocational Training Cycle in Health Emergencies at JOVIAT School is designed to train qualified professionals in pre-hospital emergency care.

These studies train you to safely transport patients, provide basic and psychological healthcare in emergency situations, manage telecare operations, and actively participate in the coordination and execution of emergency plans and foreseeable risk devices.

We work with a team made up of healthcare teachers, Emergency Technicians, SEM nurses and specialists in the subjects taught. And we have specialized companies to carry out the stay in the company.

We adapt to the diverse needs and circumstances of students; the asynchronous online mode allows those who do not have the option of doing it in person at a fixed time to follow the course.

The entire course is delivered online, except for some in-person sessions for practical activities and the regular exams at the end of each module

Curriculum

1st year

You will study the management and maintenance of medical equipment, ambulance equipment and devices and other emergency means.

You will learn basic life support techniques, mobilization and immobilization of patients in emergency situations.

You will acquire skills for the correct evacuation and transfer of patients, with an emphasis on safety and comfort.

Communication and emotional management techniques to assist patients, families and teams in critical situations.

You will learn how to handle emergency calls, provide telephone support and coordinate resources remotely.

Essential knowledge about the human body, its functioning and the main pathologies in emergencies.

Technical language and communication in English in the healthcare and emergency field.

Use of digital tools and technologies to optimize processes in the healthcare and emergency fields.

Development of skills and tools to improve job placement in the healthcare sector.

2nd year

Basic inspection and maintenance of emergency vehicles to ensure their proper functioning.

Management of material and human resources for efficient action in emergencies and disasters.

Basic life support techniques, immobilization and mobilization of patients in emergencies.

Design and organization of protocols and resources to act in emergencies and foreseeable risks.

Use of Catalan in the healthcare and emergency fields, with a focus on technical and formal communication.

Application of sustainable practices to optimize resources and minimize environmental impact in productive sectors.

Development of specific skills to improve employability and facilitate job insertion in the healthcare sector.

Practical work that integrates the knowledge acquired in various modules, applying it to a real health emergency situation.

Subject with specialized content that allows you to delve deeper into specific areas of interest within the field of health emergencies, according to the student’s preferences.

Value projects

Basic life support + AED

During the course, face-to-face sessions are scheduled that allow you to obtain the Basic Life Support and Defibrillation Certificate from the Catalan Resuscitation Council and the European Resuscitation Council.

Synthesis project

It is a final project of a research cycle, related to the working world of the emergency medical technician. Students choose a topic and plan their development until the final presentation, with the option of doing it in front of a professional audience.

Adaptability to the student

Each module has a specific start and end date during the course, but students have the opportunity to organize their work in the way that suits them best.

This flexibility is especially valuable for students who are working or who, for any other reason, cannot commit to a fixed schedule like that of the on-site program.

To access this program, applicants must meet a series of requirements, which include having an ESO diploma to passing specific access tests for those over 25 years of age, offering several ways for those interested to join the course.
