The Specialization Course in Cybersecurity in Information Technology Environments, offered by the Vocational Training Center JOVIAT trains professionals specialized in the protection of systems and data in digital environments. This advanced course prepares students to face the challenges of cybersecurity, with a practical focus on protecting IT infrastructures, detecting vulnerabilities, and responding to incidents.

The program is characterized by comprehensive training in network security, encryption, risk management and cloud security , ensuring that students develop the necessary skills to protect computer systems safely and efficiently. Students will be able to work in defense against cyber threats, positioning themselves as highly qualified professionals in a constantly growing sector.

Curriculum

Semester 1

This subject covers techniques for detecting threats, assessing risk, and applying response protocols in the face of cyberattacks, ensuring the protection of systems and data.

This subject covers the recovery, preservation, and examination of data in computer systems to identify the origin of an attack or breach, as well as its documentation for legal or judicial processes.

This subject covers the use of tools and strategies to conduct penetration testing, aiming to improve system security before they can be exploited maliciously.

This subject covers the current regulations on data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity, as well as best practices and legal requirements to comply with security standards at both national and international levels.

Semester 2

This subject covers the implementation of security measures, such as firewall configuration, intrusion protection, and the use of cryptographic mechanisms to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of information.

This subject includes techniques to ensure that applications and services deployed in production environments comply with security standards, minimizing risks and vulnerabilities during the launch process.

This subject allows students to apply the knowledge acquired during the course to design, implement, and evaluate security solutions in computer systems, as well as to solve practical challenges related to cybersecurity.

    • 5022. Strengthening Networks and Systems (132 hours)
    • 5023 Safe Production Start-up (99 hours)
    • C087 Cybersecurity Project in Information Technology Environments (126 hours)

Exams

  • The exams are in-person and will take place at JOVIAT, Carrer 5-13 Folch i Torras, Manresa, Barcelona.
    • If the subject allows, the exam will be replaced by a final project or a synchronous oral presentation. If this is the case, students will be informed during its introduction.
  • Two time slots will be offered for taking the exams: one in the morning and one in the afternoon on two different days, to make it easier for students to attend. Students may also choose to take part of the exams on one day in the morning and the other part on the afternoon of the other day.
  • Exams take place during the last week of each academic term. Tentatively, the dates would be as follows:

The center can provide a certificate of attendance for exams to any student who requests it.

Access requirements

To access the specialization course in Cybersecurity in Information Technology Environments , it is necessary to be in possession of a Higher Education Degree within the Computer Science family of studies:

Senior Technician in Network Systems Administration (SASIX)

Senior Technician in Multiplatform Application Development (SDAM)

Senior Technician in Web Application Development (SDAW)

Senior Technician in Telecommunications and Computer Systems (SSTI)

Senior Electronic Maintenance Technician (SME)

In case of availability of places (the qualification will be an academic certificate of completion of the course with success)

  • Technician of any higher degree and accredit previous knowledge in the professional area associated with cybersecurity in the information technology environment
  • Technician of any higher degree and proven experience in the professional area associated with cybersecurity in the information technology environment
  • Accredit previous knowledge or work experience in the professional area associated with cybersecurity in the information technology environment even if you do not have a higher vocational training technician title.

You can apply and obtain an academic certificate if you demonstrate the necessary knowledge.

Up to 20% of the spots may be reserved for other profiles with experience or proven knowledge in the field.
