Course content

Preventive diagnosis of the vehicle and maintenance of its equipment (60 h.) and organization of the work environment in medical transport (40 h.)

Advanced life support support (50 hrs.), Basic life support (60 hrs.) and initial assessment of the patient in emergencies or health emergencies (50 hrs.)

Ensuring the work environment for the care team and the patient (40 h.) and the patient’s visit to the health center (60 h.)

Participants who successfully complete the JOVIAT Medical Transfer course will obtain a Level 2 Certificate of Professionalism. This accreditation is an official recognition of the skills and abilities acquired and accredits the person who obtains it to work in the healthcare field transferring people in non-urgent situations.

The course is aimed at unemployed people, offering itself as an opportunity for subsidized professional training. To access, interested parties must meet the specific admission requirements of the program:

  • Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) certificate or equivalent or higher qualification (alternatively, a key competencies test can be taken at the center).
  • DARDO document (registration in the SOC).
  • Valid DNI or NIE

The course includes a 160-hour professional internship module, which allows students to apply the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in a real-world setting. These internships are carried out at TSC bases or other non-emergency health transport companies.

Completion of the course can serve as a pathway to the Intermediate Vocational Training Cycle for Health Emergency Technician, as all training modules are transferable to this intermediate cycle.

Graduates of the Patient Transport Course will be prepared to work in emergency medical services, transporting patients in non-urgent situations. This sector operates on rotating shifts to provide 24/7 coverage, 365 days a year. It is a growing field with flexible working hours.
