Dual Occupational Vocational Training (FPO) in Horse Care and Handling

The Dual Occupational Vocational Training (FPO) in Horse Care and Handling program offered by JOVIAT is designed for those young people seeking training in the world of equine livestock.

The program lasts 12 months in which work (65%) and training (35%) are combined, given at our facilities in Joviat les Tanques.

Through this DUAL program, young people will develop fundamental skills to manage equine livestock, care for them and maintain facilities, machinery and equipment to guarantee animal welfare and an appropriate environment, following criteria of occupational safety and respect for the environment.

Aimed at unemployed young people and subsidized by the SOC, this program offers training and job reintegration in a growing sector, combining theory and practice with a “Work-study training” contract to apply the knowledge acquired.

Upon completion of the FPO DUAL Horse Care and Handling Program at JOVIAT, participants will obtain a Certificate of Professionalism. This accreditation is an official recognition of the skills and competencies acquired in the field of equine gardening.

To access the course, interested parties must be unemployed and must comply with the specific requirements established by the call:

  • Be between 16 and 29 years old.
  • Over 29 years old with a social exclusion certificate
  • People over 45 years old with long-term unemployment
  • DONO document (registration with the SOC)
  • Valid DNI or NIE

The program includes a part of work in a company through a “Work-study training” employment contract. This participation in work centers is fundamental for integration into the world of work, allowing you to gain practical experience and facilitating your professional insertion in the agricultural sector.

The Certificate of Professionalism obtained can serve as a starting point for access to other related studies in the world of equestrian activities such as the Intermediate Training Cycle in Equestrian Activities.

This program trains professionals capable of developing as grooms, assistants in the care and management of livestock and facilities on livestock farms, and specialists in the care and management of equine livestock. It also prepares assistants for the feeding and care of equine livestock on any livestock farm and for tasks of assistance in the preparation, maintenance and management of facilities dedicated to horse breeding.
