These studies train you to design itineraries and guide people through terrain in high mountain conditions, using specific progression techniques in snowy and icy terrain, in ice climbing and ski mountaineering; organize high mountain itineraries, and program and direct the teaching and training of specific techniques used in difficult situations, in accordance with the established objectives, but with the optimal level of quality and in safety conditions.

Curriculum

It includes fundamental subjects for professional development within the sports field:

  • Anatomical and physiological bases of sport II
  • Psychopedagogical bases of teaching and training II
  • Sports training II
  • Organization and legislation of sport II
  • Theory and sociology of sport

Focused on specific skills for driving and teaching in medium mountains:

  • Hiking school
  • Summer mid-mountain technical training

Project work

Design and Implementation of a Hiking Route

Students could develop a hiking route for low and medium mountains, including route planning, risk assessment, and resource management.

Mountain Environmental Education Project

This project could focus on the creation of educational activities related to the environment for school groups or the general public in mountain areas.

Development of a Training Program for Mountain Activities

Students could create a specific training program for people interested in improving their physical fitness for medium mountain activities.

Students who pass this course will obtain the accreditation of Senior Sports Technician in High Mountain.

To access this training:

  • have the title of sports technician or sports technician in Climbing and sports technician or sports technician in mid-mountain, and
  • have a high school diploma or an equivalent academic qualification, a technical or higher vocational training qualification or a university degree. People who do not meet this requirement must pass a general entrance exam (you must be 19 years old or turn 19 in the year the exam is taken).
  • pass the specific entrance exam to higher education.

Those who complete the higher level obtain the title of Senior Sports Technician, which allows them to access any official undergraduate university studies.

People who complete the higher-level training obtain the title of Senior Sports Technician, which allows them to enter the workforce as:

  • high mountain guide,
  • teacher in high mountain schools,
  • mountaineering coach,
  • trainer of intermediate and higher level technicians,
  • mountain school manager,
  • organizer of high mountain activities, and
  • technical director.
