The Intermediate Vocational Training Program in Nature Guide and Leisure Time is offered as a key training for enthusiasts of the environment and outdoor activities. This course, taught at Escola Professional Joviat, is specifically designed to prepare professionals to lead recreational and educational activities in natural settings, promoting respect and conservation of the environment.

Students will benefit from a comprehensive curriculum covering everything from the identification of flora and fauna to advanced survival techniques, as well as group management in leisure activities. This training integrates theoretical knowledge with a strong practical component, ensuring that graduates are prepared to lead safely and responsibly in the leisure and active tourism sector.

Curriculum

Training in guiding techniques for low and mid-altitude mountains.

Training in the planning and organization of itineraries for various outdoor activities.

Instruction on how to guide groups on cycling routes, including aspects of safety and bicycle maintenance.

Instruction in basic and advanced horseback riding for equestrian guiding.

Specific training to guide equestrian activities and horseback routes

Development of skills to manage and assist groups in leisure activities.

Knowledge of swimming and aquatic activities, including water safety.

Subject dedicated to preparation for the labor market and professional development.

Instruction on the organization and facilitation of leisure activities.

Training in first aid and lifeguard techniques specific to natural environments.

Qualification in guiding activities in aquatic environments such as rivers and lakes-

Techniques for the use of ropes in adventure activities, such as climbing and rappelling.

Promotion of entrepreneurial spirit and knowledge in the management of leisure and tourism businesses.

Training in English specific to the natural environment and leisure guide sector.

Final project that integrates the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the course.

Students who successfully complete the course will receive the title of Intermediate Technician in Natural Environment and Leisure Time Guide, qualifying them to organize and lead groups in various outdoor activities.

To access the course, applicants must have the ESO certificate, a technician’s diploma, have passed the entrance exam or completed the specific access course for intermediate level cycles, have completed the second year of high school (batxillerat), hold other equivalent academic qualifications, or have passed the university entrance exam for those over 25 years old.

The course includes 383 hours of Work Placement Training (FCT) in companies within the sector, providing students with real practical experience.

Students can continue their training in other vocational cycles or enter the workforce directly.

Career opportunities include guide and designer of land, equestrian, and bicycle routes, educational leisure monitor, lifeguard in various environments, among others.
