INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGES
Escola Joviat began student exchanges in the 1992-1993 academic year in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Hungary, France and Sweden. The schools and countries with which we have contacts for study abroad programmes this year are:
- FOYLE LANGUAGE SCHOOL (Northern Ireland)
- ELOF LINDÄLVS GYMNASIUM (Sweden)
- HÄRJEDALEN (Sweden)
During the preparation for the exchange, the student becomes aware of the need to be able to communicate in everyday life and in terms of their speciality in the language of the host country. This way, learning the foreign language takes on real meaning. In addition, the student's awareness of displaying their skills and abilities in an unknown sphere is, to some extent, a motivating element in the learning process.
Also, as part of their specific training, the students will have had the chance to exchange knowledge, methods and procedures relating to their profession and to experience professional practice in an international context, a situation that they will very probably have to face in their more or less immediate professional future.
These exchanges are always a group of fifteen students hosted by the families of the school in the foreign country, while during the second part of the exchange it is our students who welcome their exchange partners into their homes.
